Make it in any colour, traditional oranges for autumn, red for a tomato or go abstract with your favorite scraps, make it in one main colour or 2,3 or 6 different colours, the beauty is it works either way,
We have 4 different sizes to choose from, and we will make one complete pumpkin, then you can choose to make another one in the time left,
You will have your printed template and instructions to take home so you can make a load either as gifts or as cluster of pumkins for display
As well as using your punkins for display the smaller ones make great pincushions and the large one with a little extra added weight makes a great doorstop.

Cutting - how to cut the correct size pieces
Sewing - using the right stitch and seam allowance , with hints on sewing a curved line
Creating a 3d shape
adding a weight cushion
Workshop notes - Covering the workshop, with space for your own notes of settings or adjustments.
We will then also discuss and show you options of how you may adapt your project at home with decorative stitches,
Fabric -
1st decide wether you are going one colour or multi coloured
For one colour
You Will Need:-- a minimum of 1 fat quater in your chossen fabric (consider 1/2 metre if you want to make a few.
- a scrap of green or brown for the stalk, ( or you may use the main colour)
- 1 Bag of toy stuffing
- 1 skein of cross stitch thread ( to match or a contrast)
- Matching Thread for your sewing machine
Bring your sewing machine - Must be in operational working order. (This means the machine must be able to form stitches) – if purchased second hand or given a non new machine, it is recommended that it is serviced prior to attending. Make e sure to bring foot control pedal / power lead / manual and accessories for the machine. (See T's and C's)
Basic sewing kit - Scissors, pins, complimentary colour thread to your fabric.

Our tutors - have experience across all sewing genres including dressmaking, patchwork, quilting, costumes, soft furnishings, pattern drafting, embroidering to name a few.
As professionals in their own right, they understand and know how to use all aspects of machines and feet.
Your Tutor - Jenny Herbert
From an early age, Jenny started sewing, which continued into school and onto college, studying a BTEC in Fashion, Design and Technology.Over 30 years of sewing experience, 10 years of which for Janome as a demonstrator and now for all machine brands. Overlocking is a specialism and Jenny's understanding your overlocker workshop is not to be missed.
Jenny likes all aspects of dressmaking, especially finishing and embellishing using the embroidery machine, just ask her about the dragon prom dress, as well as using all her machines in combinations with other crafts.

Fabric-
- For a single colour Pumpkin you will need a minimum of 1 fat quarter in your chossen fabric (consider 1/2 metre if you want to make a few) for multi coloured get a fat quarter for each colour choice, or bring your bag of scraps and you can work from that.
- a scrap of green or brown for the stalk, min 3"sq per pumkin (or you may use the main colour)
- 1 Bag of toy stuffing
- 1 skein of cross stitch thread ( to match or a contrast)
- Matching Thread for your sewing machine (choose a colour to compliment all your fabrics)

Bookings
Bookings can be made online, over the phone or in our showroom.
Payment
Payment is required at time of booking to secure your place.
Cancellation
Attendee cancels:-
1. Over 10 clear days before workshop / masterclass. A full refund will be issued or rebook onto another date.
2. Under 10 clear days before workshop / masterclass. No refund.
if we Direct Sewing Machine Ltd cancels:- either a full refund will be issued, or you can move to an alternative date. Please note – We are not responsible for any consequential costs.
Using own Equipment
We require you to bring your own machine. However the following must apply:-
1. Must be in operational working order. (This means the machine must be able to form stitches) – if purchased second hand or given a non new machine, it is recommended that it is serviced prior to attending.
2. Make sure to bring foot control pedal / power lead / manual and accessories for the machine.
3. You will need to bring a basic sewing kit, scissors etc. Any specific equipment will be described for the individual workshop / masterclass.
PLEASE NOTE – Refunds will not given if the attendee is unable to continue with the workshop / masterclass due to non – operational machines.
Attendance / Timings
All workshop / masterclasses will start on time and finish on time. We are unable to overrun sessions to accommodate late arrivals.
Please be kind and respectful to both out tutors and fellow attendees.
Completion of projects
We endeavour to build into the workshop / masterclasses time for the attendee to complete the project or samples. The amount of work completed during a workshop / masterclass may depend on the amount of experience and pace of work.
Lost or Damaged Property
Direct Sewing Machines Ltd are not responsible for attendee’s lost of damaged property.
Photography
We may during a workshop / masterclass take photos or videos of the session and / or attendees work. These images / videos may be used online and in other places for marketing purposes.
Please let the tutor know if you don’t want your image shown.
