Versatile all rounder, the 230DC Janome  is the entry digital  sewing machine. Perfect for beginners and experienced sewists.
 
Stitches - total 29, including utility, blind hem, stretch, overcasting for neatening raw edges, decorative and 7 automatic one step buttonhole (put the buttonhole in the back of the foot and it will do the exact size all one go).
 
Stitch number, width and length are displayed on the LCD screen, which also displays the correct foot to use for the stitch selected.
 
Stitches are easily selected and automatically set to the right length and width for that stitch. Can be adjusted with the length and width buttons. Maximum stitch width 7 mm, maximum stitch length 5 mm.
 
Needle up / down - control when the needle stays in the fabric for pivoting. Can also be used to sew one stitch at a time.
 
Speed control - over ride the foot pedal, work at the speed you prefer. Great for beginners, free motion work and children. Control the speed when using start/stop function.
 
Stop/start function - sew without the foot control pedal, ideal for free motion embroidery, sewing for long periods or for beginners/children.
 
Drop in bobbin - easier to thread as the bobbin case stays in the machine, it is also, smoother and quieter.
 
Pressure foot adjustment - reduce or increase the amount of pressure applied to the fabric when the presser foot is down.
 
Drop feed - feed dogs can be lowered for free motion embroidery, quilting, darning and sewing on buttons.
 
Securing stitches - choose between locking off, which secures and knots on the spot or traditional reverse.
