This standard zipper foot will help you to stitch standard zips and piping. Attaching the zip foot either to the left or right to make it easier to sew zips in perfectly.
Please note - not available for Smarter model 260c, 160s, 140s.
How to use:- for a centred zip (concealed on both sides).
Overcast the seam allowance. Join the fabric layers, right sides together with a standard stitch length up to the zip insertion mark.
Tack the remainder of the seam closed. Press the seam open.
Tack the zip in place, line the zip teeth centre along the tacked seamline. Extended the zip pull beyond the top of the garment edge.
Attach the zip foot to your machine.
Position edge of zip foot close to teeth of zip and move the needle to stitch approximately 6 - 10 mm (1/4 - 3/8") away from centre seam line. Stitch along both sides and across bottom of zip with a straight stitch.
Remove tacking stitches.
