Would you like to get more from your Overlocker other than neatening edges? Then check out this workshop.
Create this lovely tiered skirt, gathered and tiered using Magic, well not magic just your overlocker, but it seems like it, this is our tutors own design, created from a brainwave when doing a standard tiered skirt, one of those "what If? I wonder?" moments.
Gathering is a lot easier and quicker on the Overlocker rather than a standard sewing machine, and the skirt just comes together, the overlocker can also add the waist band and finish the hem, so need for the sewing machine**

made on the Overlocker. - Gathering - you will learn the differential feed to gather the fabric - Adding an Elasticated waistband - Hemming - how to stitch the rolled hem to finish the skirt - No pattern required - but you will need:- waist , hip and length,(waist to knee) measurements - Workshop Notes - covering the workshop, with space for your own notes of settings or adjustments. |

Your Overlocker -
Must be in operational working order. (This means the machine must be able to sew ) – if purchased second hand or given a non new machine, it is recommended that it is serviced prior to attending. Make e sure to bring foot control pedal / power lead / manual and accessories for the machine .

- Overlocker accessories - Feet and accessories that came with your machine (Gathering foot if you have one but not essential) - Fabric - must be of a soft lightweight woven fabric to allow a nice gather Childs size 1m of 150cm(60") or 1.5m of 115cm(45") Adult Size 1.5-2m of 150cm(60") or 2-2.5m of 115cm(45") for a more accurate amount you can ask for our formula sheet but this will require some mathematics. - Matching thread, 4x 1000m overlocker thread - Elastic- waist measurement, of 25-30mm wide elastic. - Basic sewing kit - scissors, threads, |
** Although not needed you may add an optional topstitch using your sewing machine afterwards at home , or add a bit of hand sewn decoration this is not part of the workshop just something you can do at home,
