The Pfaff 1/4 Patchwork foot for IDT system is particulary suitable for joining patchwork shaped togther.
 
The clearance between the needle and the outer edge of the foot is 1/4" (6.3mm) and between the needle and the inner edge of the foot 1/8" (3.15mm).

How to use:-
Attach the 1/4" quilting foot.
Engage the IDT system, if available on your machine.
Sew fabric together using straight stitch.
When using 1/4" seam allowance, guide the fabric along outer edge of foot. When using an 1/8" seam allowance guide the fabric along the inner edge of the foot.
